University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi

University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS), Delhi is the constituent college of University of Delhi and was established in the year 1971. It regulates various medical and paramedics courses under its institution. Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital is the integrated teaching hospital of UCMS where the students are trained practically so that they can aware themselves with the real experiences. The prominent faculties of the college are known for imparting best and quality education in the field of medicine. UCMS is the first medical institution of India that introduces Medical Humanities Group.

Campus

Presently, the huge campus of UCMS is situated in Dilshad Garden of Delhi, the capital city of India. The campus houses the Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) hospital that is a training hospital. Apart from this, campus is furnished with many other modern learning facilities.

Facilities

The amenities offered by the UCMS, Delhi includes a central library accommodating a large collection of resources like books, journals, thesis, etc. More than 16000 books and WHO publications are there in the library. The residential facility for both girls and boys. Besides this, the campus also houses the quarters for staff members. The other facilities include central workshop, skill lab, medical education unit, hospital laboratory services unit, animal house, audio-video telemedicine and many more. The health conscious students can also take the advantage of gym provided in the campus.

Programmes

University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi runs Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme. The duration of this course is 4-1/2 year plus one year internship training and divided into nine semesters. The college also offers the degree in MD/MS course. Besides this, there is a research centre that regulates Ph.D course.
