Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (APAU), Hyderabad
The Andhra Pradesh Agriculture University (APAU) was established on June 12, 1964 at Hyderabad. The university was formally inaugurated on March 20, 1965 by Late Shri. Lal Bahadur Shashtri. The university is renamed as Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University on 7th November, 1996. The university is an autonomous university which is approved by UGC (Union Grants Council) & ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research).
Campus
There are 13 colleges which are affiliated to this university (8 Agricultural Colleges, 1 Home Science, 2 Agricultural Engineering, 2 Food Science & Technology), 12 Polytechnics. The campus is situated in the center of the Hydarabad which is easily accessible by bus. The students can reach the university by road/air/rail transport.
Facilities
The APAU has vast facilities in every field which is needed by the student. It has E-library in which 1000 plus volumes of books are available. The library includes the national and international e journals. The whole campus is enabled with the Wi-Fi connectivity technology. The laboratories are fully equipped and air conditioned, the computer centers of the university is also well-equipped latest hardwares & softwares. It provides the separate hostels for boys and girls. The university has a transport facility for the students who come from far places. There is also gymnasium, Cafeteria and sports ground.
