Basaveshwara Medical College & Hospital was formed in the year 2000. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various medical specialties and super-specialties. The institution is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka and approved by Medical Council of India (MCI).

Basaveshwara Medical College & Hospital offers undergraduate and postgraduate programe in the medical field. The institution offers undergraduate course in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme and postgraduate course in Doctor of Medicine (MD). The duration of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme is four and a half years with the compulsory rotational internship training of one year while the duration of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) course is three years.
