Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi
The foundation of Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi was laid down by the then Prime Minister of India, Late Smt. Indira Gandhi on 26th June 1981. It is a public university that is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). This university was instituted to promote agricultural education among the dedicated students.
Campus
This university has a modernized campus situated in Ranchi – Patratu Road, Ranchi, Jharkhand. The nearest airport (Ranchi Airport) is just 17 kms away from the campus location and the Ranchi Railway station is only 13 km away from the university location.
Facilities
This university has total 14 hostels out of which 9 hostels are for boys and 5 hostels are for girls. Each hostel is equipped with modern amenities like internet, telephone, computer, common rooms with magazines, newspapers, mess, etc. This university has a central library and four college libraries which are fully stocked with books, volumes, reports, projects, etc. It houses an advanced computer centre equipped with latest configurations and Wi-Fi connectivity. Other facility includes conference hall, indoor and outdoor facility, medical facility, hygienically maintained cafeteria, etc.

Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Agri-Business. The duration of this course is two years and it is divided into four semesters, summer placement and project work. This course focuses on management skills such as decision making leadership, communication, discipline and team work. The University also offers science courses in the field of agriculture.
