Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University is a public university established in the year of 1957 by an act passed by the U.P. Legislature. This university is approved by UGC (University Grants Commission). This university is accredited with “B++” grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). DDUGU offers courses in the field of management, law, agriculture, etc.

Campus

This university has an attractive and sprawling campus located in Civil Lines, Gorakhpur district of the state of Uttar Pradesh. The campus has been spread over 300 acres of land. The nearest railway station is just 2 kms away from the main campus.

Facilities

The classrooms are spacious and equipped with the advance audio-video teaching equipments. There are several hostels for boys and girls students. Hostels are equipped with the reading-cum-TV room, games and many other facilities. The library has a vast collection of books, journals, periodical, etc. Other facilities comprise of banking facility, transport facility, well-maintained canteen, gymnasium hall, health centre, sub-Post Office, advanced computer centre, medical facility, research buildings for each department and many others.

Programmes

Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of law and agriculture such as LL.B, LL.M, B.Sc (Agri.) and M.Sc. (Agri.). The duration of LL.B course is three years, which comprises of total six semesters and duration of LL.M programme is two years.

Admission

Students are required to appear for the entrance test to get admission in law courses offered by this university. For admission into LL.M. programme, candidates must have passed LL.B with securing 55% marks for general and OBC candidates. Students shall be admitted as per the merit list, which will be prepared according to the marks obtained by the candidates in the exam.
