Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli

Dr.Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth Agricultural University Dapoli in Indian state of Maharashtra. It was established on May 18, 1972 as Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, and got its present name on February 12, 2001. It is a deemed university approved by the ICAR, New Delhi. The mission of the university is to cater the need of the Konkan region with regards to Education, research and Extension Education in Agriculture.

Campus

It has research centre at Karjat which developed some patented varieties of rice. Its major focus areas are rice, horticulture and fisheries. In 1997, it received the Best Institute Award of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. It has many institutions/colleges affiliated to this university. The campus is well-connected with other places in the state.

Facilities

The university offers many facilities for the students. The university has the e-library as an information centre. It has spacious workshops, community health centre, canteen, playground, bank, ATM, health checkup centre, on-line battery backup, youth club laboratories, boys and girl’s hostel, computer labs, Wi-Fi campus, auditorium/ conference hall, and many others.

Placement

The training & placement cell of the university automates the placement process in the campus. The cell organizes the job fairs for the students at the end of the final year of the last year students. Many students are working at present with most of the top reputed companies.
