Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV), Akola
Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (PDKV) is an agricultural university located at Akola, in Maharasthra. The University was established on 20th October, 1969. It is entrusted with the responsibility of agricultural education, research and extension education along with breeder and foundation seed programmes. The University is approved by MCAER, Pune and it is a Deemed University.
Campus
The central campus of the university is at Akola while another major campus is at Nagpur. A new campus has been established at Garchiroli. The University has over a total 3425 hectares of cultivable land under its possession for conducting various researches, field trials in addition to seed multiplication programme. The University has 20 research stations, Biotechnology centre and many Agricultural research stations.
Facilities
The PDKV provides the many facilities for the students in the campus. The University has well-maintained labs and training centers, the classrooms are spacious and fully-ventilated, the labs are available for every department, Wi-Fi campus/E-classrooms. The University has E-libraries and journals; students can easily access the books and periodicals from the library. The University also provides many facilities like sports ground, hostel facility, cafeteria, mess, gymnasium, dispensary, banking, subway and transport etc.
