Government Engineering College, Bhavnagar
Government Engineering College (GEC), Bhavnagar has been established in the year 2004. The new building of this institution was inaugurated in the year 2009 by the Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri. Narendrabhai Modi. The GEC is fully Government College and is affiliated to the Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad. The campus is approved by the AICTE and the DTE, state of Gujarat.
The college is situated in the BPTI (Bhavnagar Polytechnic Institute) campus in Vidhya Nagar in district Bhavnagar, Gujarat. The GEC campus is spread over in 14.25 acres of land. The campus is 1.5 km away from the State Bus Stand and 2.5 km away from the Bhavnagar Railway Station.
Students & Faculty:
Around 1000 students are pursuing degrees from the GEC, Bhavnagar. The campus offers 540 seats for admission as the annual intake in all programmes. The GEC campus has more than 47 faculty members from all departments.
The campus is divided into department wise blocks and providing the laboratories, workshops, library, ladies room, canteen, student store, stationary, book bank, sports facility, computer centre having 290 computers with 2 Mbps internet facility and transportation.
Under the Gujarat Knowledge Society, the campus is conducting the 19 IT and 20 non-IT courses for the students who have qualified the S.S.C. level. The campus organizes various co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
The GEC, Bhavnagar is conducting the 4 year full-time B.Tech degree programme in six engineering disciplines. The main engineering branches offered by the campus are following:
