How to Apply for NID 2027
Here we have mentioned the NID 2027 steps to apply:
- Step-1: Visit the NID website online (link will be given above).
- Step-2: Register with details such as name, email ID, mobile number, Date of Birth, programme applying etc.
- Step-3: Login to the portal and proceed to “Step-2: Application Form”.
- Step-4: Fill in required details such as personal and qualification details.
- Step-5: Upload all necessary documents such as photograph, signature category certificate etc.
- Step-6: Click on “Save & Proceed” tab and proceed to pay the requisite application fee.
- Step-7: After completing the payment process, take a printout of the completed application form for future references.
NID 2027 Eligibility Criteria

For B.Des Course:
- Nationality: Candidates of Indian National or Foreign National under Overseas category can apply for admission.
- Qualification: Applying candidates must have passed 12th level exam from any recognized board or university to be eligible.
- Age Limit: Here we have mentioned the age limit for different categories:
Candidates must be born on or after 1st July 2006 for General & General EWS category.
For OBC-NCL, ST & SC Category, one must be born on or after 1st July 2003.
For PWD Category, one must be born on or after 1st July 2001.
For Foreign/ Overseas Category, one must be born on or after 1st July 2006. - Appearing: Those appearing candidates for their final examination can also apply for admission.
For M.Des Course:
- Nationality: All Indian citizens or Foreign/ Overseas citizens can apply for admission.
- Qualification: Applying candidates must hold a 4-year Bachelor’s degree or a full time Diploma of minimum 4 years. OR
- A candidate with 3 year Bachelors degree will also be acceptable, if completed by August 2026.
- Age Limit: The age of applying candidates can be vary category wise:
For General & general EWS category: Born on or after 1st July 1995.
OBC-NCL, ST & SC Category: Born on or after 1st July 1992.
PwD Category: Born on or after 1st July 1990.
Foreign in Overseas Category: Born on or after 1st July 1995. - Appearing: Candidates appearing in their final year of their Bachelors Degree/ Diploma programme or awaiting their results can also apply for admission.
NID 2027 Exam Pattern
In which mode, the NID 2027 exam will be conducted. Get details here:
- Mode of Exam: NID 2027 exam will be held via offline mode, using pen and paper format.
- Duration: A total of 3 hours will be given to solve the entrance exam.
- Type of Questions: In exam, paper will include both objective and subjective type questions.
- Total Marks: Total 100 marks of questions paper will be asked.
- Medium: In English medium, candidates will appear for exam.
NID 2027 Syllabus
The syllabus of NID 2027 will be announced through online mode. The prelims syllabus of NID 2027 will cover design innovation, theme and picture analysis, color usage, presentation techniques, optical illusions, creative thinking and writing and story pictures, etc.
The DAT Mains exam syllabus for B.Des Programme will include a studio test with tasks like doodling, material manipulation and audio-visual exercises etc, whereas for M.Des Programme, it focuses on more advanced design theory, creative thinking and visual communication skills.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
NID 2027 Admit Card
Admit card for NID 2027 will be published through online mode. Candidates will have to visit the website to access the hall ticket. It will be released in December 2026 for the DAT prelims exam for both UG & PG courses.
For DAT mains admit card, it will be released in February 2027. Candidates are suggested to keep the hard copy of the admit card safe for the exam day. As without having a valid hall ticket, candidates will not be able to appear for the exam.
NID 2027 Answer Key
NID will not release any NID 2027 answer key after completing the entrance exam. The answer key will not be displayed on the website, as it is considered highly subjective.
However, candidates will be able to request the authority to view their response sheets for one year after the declaration of final result. But only after the admission procedure is complete. Appeared candidates will be required to make an online payment of Rs. 1000/- per exam to obtain a copy of their OMR sheet.
NID 2027 Result
Candidates will be able to access the NID 2027 result through online mode. For the DAT Prelims exam, the authority will prepare a separate merit list for each category of candidates. In February 2027, results are expected to be released on the website.
Candidates will be eligible to appear for the DAT Mains exam based on the DAT Prelims merit list. Based on the weightage scores obtained by the candidates on DAT Prelims & DAT Mains exam, a final category-wise merit list will be prepared. Shortlisted candidates will be eligible to participate in the further counselling procedure.
NID 2027 Cut Off
The NID 2027 cut off will be published through online mode. Based on various factors such as number of applicants, difficulty level of exam and availability of seats, the cut off marks will be released. For NID admission, one from various categories will be considered eligible only if they meet the minimum qualifying criteria.
