LD College of Engineering, Ahmedabad

LD College of Engineering (LDCE) has been established in the year 1948 after donating the 25 lakh and 77 acres of land by the textile industrialist Seth Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai to the state government for developing an institution. Thus, the college was named as the Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering. The LDCE is fully government institution and administered by the Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat. The LDCE is affiliated to the Gujarat Technological University and approved by the AICTE and MHRD.

Campus:

The LDCE campus is located in the heart of the Ahmedabad City opposite of Gujarat University in Navrangpura. The campus is spread over in 77 acres of land and 5 km away from the Ahmedabad Railway Station and 8 km from the Ahmedabad International Airport.

Students & Faculty:

For all programmes, the LDCE is offering the 1985 seats for annual admission. The LDCE has a squad of 192 faculty members from all departments.

Facilities:

The LDCE campus has various laboratories, workshops, computerized library with 73,000 books, book bank, computing facility with 100Mbps internet facility over the entire campus, hostel facility with 787 students’ capacity, post office, bank, gymnasium and student store.

Activities:

Since 1948, the college has been conducting the ‘NCC’ activities to transform the regulations into the students. The campus organizes the IGNITE programme and follows the schedule of TEQIP, beside the extracurricular activities organized by the LDCE.

Programmes:

At present, the LDCE is conducting the 14 undergraduate programmes, 17 postgraduate programmes and 4 part-time programmes in the field of engineering and technology. All programmes are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. The main engineering courses are in following streams:
