Nirma University, Ahmedabad
Nirma University (NU) was established by the Government of Gujarat by the legislative assembly of the state of the Gujarat in the year 2003 by merged of the six reputed colleges under one flag named Institute of Technology (Estd. 1995), Institute of Management (Estd. 1996), Institute of Diploma Studies (Estd. 1997), Institute of Pharmacy (Estd. 2003), Institute of Science (Estd. 2004) and Institute of Law (Estd. 2007). The NU is recognized by the University Grant Commission. The NU is running under the aegis of the Nirma Education and Research Foundation.
Campus:
The NU campus is sited on the Sarkhej – Gandhi Nagar National Highway-8C in Chharodi Village in Ahmadabad, the district of Gujarat. The NU campus sprawls over 110 acres of land. The NU campus is just 15 km away from the Ahmadabad City and very well-connected to the major cities by roads, rail and air.
Faculty:
The NU campus has more than 342 faculty members from all departments of the all institutions.
Facilities:
The NU campus has six colleges equipped with all necessary facilities and amenities likely to be an institution as par the regulatory norms. The campus has rich libraries separately for each institution, separate laboratories, workshops, computer centre for each one, auditorium, seminar hall, gymnasium, separate hostels for boys & girls, health care clinic, indoor & outdoor sports facilities, banking & ATM, cafeteria, canteen and spacious lecture halls.
Activities:
The NU campus organizes and participates in University & inter-school competition, co-curricular activities, conferences, seminars, educational tours, sports activities and extracurricular activities.
Programmes:
The NU campus is conducting around 50 academic courses including UG, PG and Doctoral degree programmes through its six institutions in various fields of allied and professional education. It also provides postgraduate, executive diploma and PhD courses in the management field. It also offers 5 years integrated course (BBA+MBA). Placement:
The NU campus has a central institution – industry interaction cell, besides the training & Placement cell established by each college. The T&P cell provides the trainings and internship to the students and Central Cell provides the industrial exposure, industrial visits, campus recruitment and final job placement to the students. The main recruiters of the campus are Accenture, Adani Group, Aditya Birla, Amtech Electronics, Aqua Gel, Argusoft, ABB, Asia Motors, ATUL and Bayer.
