Shivaji University, Kolhapur
Shivaji University was established in the year 1962 and inaugurated by Dr. Sarvpalli Radha Krishnan, the then President of India. The university is named after the Maratha Warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Around 279 colleges are affiliated to the Shivaji University. The university is approved by the UGC and all technical and professional course are accredited with AICTE. The law courses are recognized by the Bar Council of India. The University is famous for imparting education in the field of law, pharmacy, medical, architecture, agriculture, engineering, etc.
Campus
The university as a big, spread and vast campus on around 853 acres of land. The university is situated on Old Pune – Bangalore Highway in Vidya Nagar around 3 km away from the Kolhapur city of Maharashtra. The campus is very well-connected by the road and rail Network. The campus is 10 minutes away from the Kolhapur Airport.
