Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur

Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT) is a private, self-financed and non-minority institute located in the limits of Karnataka. The college is granted the status of autonomous of Visvesvaraya Technological University and approved by the AICTE. All technical courses of the college are accredited by the NBA. The SIT was established in the year 1963 and run by the Sree Siddaganga Education Society.

Campus

The campus of SIT is spread over around 50 acres of land on the national highway-4 in Tumkur district of Karnataka state. The campus is situated around 70 km from Bangalore city on Bangalore- Honavar Road in Sri Krishna Nagar. The campus is well-connected by the road and located in the city area on around 5 km from the Tumkur Railway Station.

Facilities

Campus has many Hi-Tech and modern facilities like 29 computer centre with round the clock internet facility, well-equipped laboratories, workshops, internet in-build classrooms and boys & girls hostels, health centre, library with huge number of volumes, Auditorium, Gymnasium and sports facility and transportation facility for students as well as for the staff.

At the inception of the college it had started with just three disciplines as civil, electrical and mechanical but now the campus is offering the 12 UG courses including B.Arch, 12 PG courses including MCA and MBA and 14 doctoral courses in various disciplines of engineering and technology.
