Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Mumbai

Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI Mumbai) is one of the oldest colleges of engineering in Asia. It was founded in 1887. It was formerly known as Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute and was rechristened to its present name on 26 January 1997. The college is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Mumbai University and it is financially supported by government of Maharashtra.

In 2004 academic and administrative autonomy was awarded to the college. VJTI is also the Central Technical Institute of Maharashtra state. The Institute is renowned institution in the state providing various training and research programs in engineering and technology. The VJTI provides certificate, diploma, degree, programs at graduate, post-graduate and doctoral levels.

Campus:

VJTI campus is located in the Matunga region in the heart of the Mumbai city. The college campus is spread in an area of 16 acres of land. The college is located at the city centre with good connectivity to all means of transport.

Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Mumbai offers various diploma and degree courses in engineering at graduate and postgraduate level.

VJTI has well equipped labs and workshops, good computing facilities, separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, seminar hall and auditorium, sports facility for the recreation and overall development of the students, mess and canteen facility etc.

Placement:

Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute has a training and placement cell for coordinating and managing training and placement related activities.
