Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (VIMS), Bangalore was established in the year of 2000 and promoted by Srinivasa trust. It has four academic institutions: Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences, Vydehi Institute of Dental Sciences, Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences and Vydehi Institute of Biotechnology Sciences. The medical and dental institution is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. The medical institution is approved by Medical Council of India and dental institution is recognized by Dental Council of India.

Campus

The campus of the institution is located at Nallurahalli, Near BMTC 18th Depot, Bangalore. The Institution is attached to the Vydehi Hospital. The city is well-connected to the all modes of transportation such as air, road and railway.

Facilities

The central library of the Institution has a rich collection of national and foreign journals, textbooks, reference books, periodicals, newspapers and magazines. The Institution also has a well-established classroom with the facility of audio-visual aids. Other facilities that are provided by the Institutions are canteen, laboratory, auditorium, seminar hall, computer lab, medical, indoor and outdoor games, etc. The attached hospital has 1600 bed with 24-hour service facility. The hospital has various departments such as like emergency department, blood bank, critical care unit and central diagnostic Lab.

Programmes

Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences imparts 5 ½ years Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). There are 250 seats available for the MBBS programme. The duration of this programme is extending over 4 ½ academic years that is divided into 9 semesters, (i.e. of 6 months each) and one year compulsory rotating internship. The MBBS seats will be allotted on the merit selection that is based on Common Entrance Test of Association of Minorities Professional Colleges of Karnataka (AMPCK).

Vydehi Institute of Dental Sciences offers 4 years Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). 60 seats are available for the BDS programme. The BDS seats will be allotted by merit selection done based on Common Entrance Test (KRLMPCA).
