Not Checking Information Bulletin

Students who skip to go through information bulletin may not be updated with complete information. Before beginning the JEE Main 2027 Registration, students must carefully read the official information bulletin, which is updated on the website. It clearly mentions eligibility criteria, important dates, and required documents.

Many candidates skip this step and later realise they don’t meet certain conditions, such as subject combinations or minimum marks in Class 12, resulting which creates problem later during admission.

Documents Not Up-to-date

Another mistakes students make is not having complete or updated documents while registering for JEE mains. Keep all documents and files ready — Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, ID proof, Aadhaar card details, and scanned images of your photograph and signature, etc. Make sure all the documents are in exact format and file size mentioned in the guidelines.

Example: Some students upload selfies or cropped group photos instead of passport-size photos, which leads to rejection or correction requests later.

Invalid Communication Details:

Without an active email ID and mobile number registration will not be possible. NTA sends confirmation messages, payment receipts, and admit card links to the registered contact details. One must make sure to have a mobile number and email id which is active/ working for receiving regular updates.

Not Aware of Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, check your JEE Main Eligibility — especially your year of passing, subjects, and age criteria. Students who miss to check out the eligibility criteria, often ends up making mistakes in form filling procedure which leads to cancellation of form/ admission.

Example: Candidates who passed Class 12 before 2022 often fill out the form without checking that they’re no longer eligible for JEE Main 2027.

Error in Filling Details in JEE Main Form

• When you start the JEE Main application form 2027, fill it step by step — personal details, academic details, exam preferences, and uploads. Don’t rush or jump between sections.
  Example: Some candidates skip the “academic details” section, assuming they can edit it later, but the form doesn’t move forward until all fields are filled correctly.
• Double-check every entry. Make sure the spelling of your name, date of birth, and parent details exactly match your Class 10 certificate.
  Example: Writing “Ravi K.” instead of “Ravi Kumar” can cause a mismatch in the admit card and at counselling later.
• Avoid abbreviations or casual entries. Write full spellings in the address and school names.
  Example: Typing “DAV Pub Sch.” instead of “DAV Public School” might seem harmless, but it creates issues during document verification.
• Choose your Exam city preferences carefully. Pick a city that’s convenient and accessible. Aadhaar details are used only for identity verification, not for deciding the exam city.
  Example: Many candidates from small towns select metro cities, assuming more availability, but later struggle with travel or long-distance centres.
• Select the correct exam paper and category.
  Example: A few students mistakenly choose B.Arch instead of B.Tech, and can’t change it after submission. Maintain a stable internet connection while uploading photos or paying fees. A poor connection can log you out or cause failed uploads, forcing you to redo the form.

Final Submission and Aftercare

Before final submission, review the entire JEE Main form once more.
Example: Candidates often notice small mistakes — like a wrong exam city or a misspelled parents’ name only after submitting, when no edits are allowed.

Verify that your payment status shows “Successful.” If the payment fails or remains pending, your form will not be accepted. After submission, download and print the confirmation page. Keep both a digital and printed copy safe for the admit card and counselling use.

Finally, submit early. Don’t wait for the JEE Main registration last date to apply.
Example: On the final day, the NTA portal often slows down, and many students report payment failures or incomplete submissions due to heavy traffic.

JEE Main Correction Window 2027

Students who have made error in their JEE Mains 2027 application form, NTA will open JEE Main 2027 form correction facility in first week of December 2026 . All the candidates who have made any of the mistakes given above or have made any mistakes can now edit their form.

The NTA JEE Main 2027 exam is conducted in two sessions. JEE Main session 1 examination will be held from 22nd to 24th January 2027 and 28th -30th January 2027. For session 2, JEE Main exam will be held in 1st- 2nd week of April 2027.
