Anna University 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates can go through the section below to know Anna University 2026 eligibility norms:
For BE/B.Tech Courses:
- Nationality: Qualification: Those candidates who have passed 8th to 12th standard from outside Tamil Nadu are required to show Original Nativity Certificate in electronic form/ digitally signed e-certificate.
- Qualification: Candidates must have passed class 12th or equivalent from a recognized board to be eligible for admission.
- Marks: In qualifying exam, candidates must score at least 45% marks for general category & 40% marks for reserved category candidates.
- Subjects: One must have passed 12th level with PCM as mandatory subject.
- Selection: For admission, selection will be done based on TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission).
For ME/ M.Tech/M.Arch/ M.Plan Courses (CEETA PG):
- Qualification: To be eligible, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field from a recognized institute/ university.
- Marks: In qualifying exam, candidates must obtain a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks in case of BC/BCM/ MBA/ SC/ SCA/ ST) to be eligible.
- Scores: To appear for CEETA PG exam, candidates must have a valid GATE score.
- Appearing: Those appearing in Final semester/ year appearing can also apply for the exam.
For MBA Courses:
- Qualification: Applying candidates must have Bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years duration from recognized board in the given educational pattern:
- 10+2+3/4/5 years pattern
- 10+3 years Diploma + 2/3 years pattern
- 10+2 + AMIE + 2 years of experience
- 10+3 years Diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE + 2 years of experience.
- Marks: In the qualifying exam, one must have passed with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for BC, BCM, SC, SCA, and ST candidates from Tamil Nadu).
- Appearing: Candidates appearing in their final year of their bachelor’s degree will also be eligible to apply.
For MCA Courses:
- Qualification: To be eligible, one must hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years in BCA, B.Sc. (Information Technology/ Computer Science), or an equivalent degree in given pattern:
- 10+2+3/4/5 years pattern
- 10+3 years Diploma + 2/3 years pattern
- 10+2 + AMIE + 2 years of experience
- 10+3 years Diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE + 2 years of experience.
- Subjects: Candidates must have Mathematics subject at 10+2 or graduation level to be eligible for admission.

Anna University 2026 Admission Procedure
There will be various steps in the admission procedure of Anna University 2026. Initially, candidates will have to fill out the application form through online mode. Admission to undergraduate programmes will be offered based on merit of qualifying exam or TNEA admission.
Admission to various postgraduate programmes such as MBA, MCA, ME, M.Tech, M,Arch, M.Plan will be provided based on the CEETA PG/ TANCET entrance exam. Those qualified candidates in the entrance exam will be eligible to participate in the counselling procedure.
