These courses are offered in the field of engineering & non-engineering courses. The admission process is managed by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam. Admission will be given on the basis of merit of the qualifying exam.

Assam Polytechnic (PAT) 2026 Counselling

Counselling has begin after the merit declaration. It has begin from 11th June 2026 through online mode. Candidate have to participate in the counselling process through website via online mode. Only those Candidates who qualify for the examination are eligible to appear for the counselling process.

Candidates have to report in order of their category/caste. Candidates who pass the examination have to appear in the interview round for final selection for admission at counselling center.

The seat has been allotted to the candidates on the basis of the category, merit, preferences of the candidate & availability of seats. Selected candidates have to report to the Institutions for final admission on the respective date.

Candidates have to report at the specified venue on the given date & time to participate in the counselling session.

Assam Polytechnic Counselling Procedure

• The authority organize interview round to select the candidates provisionally for admission into polytechnic colleges.
• Candidates have to complete their selection of Institutes and Branches and upload all the required documents.
• The counselling/interview round is conducted via online mode.
• At the time of the interview, choice of courses & polytechnic can be determined on the basis of merit.
• Candidates once admitted to one polytechnic will not be considered for admission in any other polytechnic.
• Candidates belonging to the reserved categories who are in the merit list of reserved category can be also placed in the General Merit List in the respective positions.
• Candidates of different reserved categories whose roll numbers are in the General Merit List have also reported on the date for General category candidates.
• Candidates must take admission only once, either as a general or as reserved category. Candidates, those taken admission in any one category are not eligible to get admission in another category.

Documents Required During Counselling/Admission

Candidates should carry the following documents at the time of Assam Polytechnic (PAT) Counselling 2026. All the attested copies of documents must be signed by the candidates on the front side of the documents.

• Class 10^th or its equivalent Admit Card & Mark Sheets
• Original Mark Sheets of qualifying examination
• Age proof Certificate
• Part B of the form duly & properly filled in
• 3 Copies of Recent Passport Size Photographs
• Permanent Residence Certificate
• Character Certificate
• Caste Certificate

It is mandatory for all qualified candidates to participate in the counselling process. Seats will be allotted to the candidates in various institutions. Seats will be given to candidates after producing the required document as well as fees at the time of counselling.
