GATE Exam Update: As the GATE 2026 registration started on 28th August 2025, candidates who have already filled out the application form should carefully review the details they submitted.
Those who haven’t applied yet are advised to fill in their details accurately to avoid errors during the verification process.
If any of the candidates have made mistakes, they will be able to correct them during the GATE 2026 application correction window. The GATE application form’s last date to apply without late fees is 28th September 2025, and with late fees, candidates can apply till October 09th, 2025.
GATE application correction facility will be provided after the form submission window closes. The GATE 2025 application correction window was open from October 31, 2024, to November 06, 2024, which was then extended to 10th November 2024.
For the GATE 2026 application correction date, candidates can accept it in October 2025. Authority will release the form correction dates and details soon. The GATE correction window will be available at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. To avail this facility, candidates will be required to log in to the GOAPS portal.
Editable Fields in the GATE Form
Candidates will not be allowed to edit all the fields in the GATE application form. Only a list of a few fields can be changed with the help of the correction facility.

The application fees for GATE are non-refundable. Once candidates have corrected their details and submitted the form after using the correction facility, no required of corrections will be accepted by the authority.
IIT Guwahati will conduct the GATE 2026 exam on 7th, 8th, 14th, and 15th February 2026. Admit cards will be issued by the authority only to candidates whose application forms have been successfully accepted.
