NEET PG Exam Pattern 2026

The National Board of Examination (NBE) has released the exam pattern along with notification for NEET PG 2026. Candidates preparing for NEET PG 2026 are advised to go through its exam pattern.

Through exam pattern, candidates can understand the syllabus, marking scheme, nature of questions, and number of questions, etc, of NEET PG 2026.

  • Exam mode: NEET PG 2026 is conducted through online mode (CBT).
  • Exam Date: NEET PG 2026 is scheduled on 30th August 2026.
  • Shifts: NEET PG is held in a single shift.
  • Section: Five Time Bound Sections (A, B, C, D & E) have been introduced by NBE.
  • Type of Questions: Exam paper have multiple choice questions (MCQs) with four options & a single correct answer.
  • Number of Questions: There are a total of 36 questions in each of five sections. Total number of questions are 180.
  • Time: Total time duration is 3 hours & 30 minutes. For each section, 42 minutes are allotted.
  • Language: Medium of the question paper is English.
  • Marking: For each correct response, 4 marks are awarded. For each incorrect response, 1 mark is deducted.

NEET PG Cut Off 2026

Cut off is minimum marks required to be eligible for admission procedure. The National Board of examination (NBE) releases the cut-off percentile and cut off score of NEET PG.

If NEET PG cut off needs to be revised, it will be only done on the basis of instructions issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. 

NEET PG Result Scope 2026

  • All India 50% quota seats for MS/ MD/ PG diploma courses in all states except Jammu & Kashmir.
  • State quota seats for MS/ MD/ PG diploma courses for all states and Union territories (including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Jammu & Kashmir).
  • MS/ MD/ PG diploma courses at all private & deemed medical institutes across the country.
  • MD/ MS/ PG Diploma courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.

Allotment in Government & Private Colleges:
