Through the NID exam, candidates can get admitted into full time B.Des of four years, M.Des of two years & Ph.D in Design. In this competitive test, there will be two stages i.e Design Aptitude Test (DAT Prelims) and DAT Mains to get admission to NID 2027. Those shortlisted candidates in the entrance exam will get admission into NID campuses located at Ahmedabad & its affiliated campuses.

NID 2027 Eligibility Criteria

For B.Des Courses:
- Qualification: Candidates applying for exam must pass class 10+2 qualifying examination in any stream from a recognized board.
Age Criteria:
- Indian Nationals In General Category & General EWS category: Candidates who DOB falls on or after 1st July 2006 will be eligible for admission.
- Indian National in Reserved Category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST): One born on or after 1st July 2002 will be eligible to apply.
- Indian Nationals in PwD Reserved Category: To apply, candidates must be born on or after 1st July 2000.
- Indian Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary Category): Candidates who were born on or after 1st July 2026 will be eligible to apply.
For M.Des Courses:
- Qualification: Candidates must have a bachelor degree of minimum 4 years duration in any specialization from any recognized university/ institute. OR
- Applying candidates must have a full time Diploma of minimum 4 year duration in Design/ Fine Arts/ Applied Arts/ Architecture from any recognized university/ institute. OR
- One must have a bachelor degree of minimum 3 year duration in any specialization from any recognized university/ institute to be considered for admission.
Age Criteria:
- Indian Nationals in General Category and General EWS category: Candidates applying must be born on or after 1st July 1994 can apply.
- Indian National in Reserved Category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST): One born on or after 1st July 1991 can apply for admission.
- Indian Nationals in PwD Reserved category: Applying candidates must be born on or after 1st July 1999 to apply for the exam.
- Indian Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category: To apply for the exam, candidates whose DOB falls on or after 1st July 1994 will be eligible.

Candidates can get complete NID 2027 application steps to apply:
- Go through the complete NID online website (Link is given above).
- On the homepage, press the “NID 2027 Registration” button.
- Now register yourself by providing the email ID, date of birth, name, etc.
- Validate your details by entering the received OTP on the registered email ID and mobile number.
- Press the “Submit” button.
- The login credentials will be sent to the candidates.
- Now login using allotted details to fill out the application form.
- Fill the form with details such as personal, academic qualification, work experience, communication & other asked details.
- On the same page, press “Save & Proceed” to go to the next section.
- After form filling, upload the scanned documents such as photograph, signature & other requisite documents in prescribed format.
- Candidates must upload the documents in JPG/ JPEG format with minimum 50 KB to 200 KB in size.
- Now proceed to submit the application fee using available payment option.
- Submit the fee as per your category to proceed to the next step.
