The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently released a notice regarding publicizing the National Narcotics Helpline MANAS 1933 in all the CBSE Schools.
This initiative has been launched by the Government of India to strengthen its policy of Zero Tolerance against drug abuse and ensure wider outreach.
There are multiple purposes of the 24/7 MANAS platform. It allows everyone to share information related to drug trafficking, provides guidance on rehabilitation and counseling, and offers access to awareness materials such as posters, brochures, and videos through the official website ncbmanas.gov.in
CBSE Directions To Schools
As per the notice, all the CBSE-affiliated schools are required to follow the following:
- Widely publicize the MANAS Helpline (1933) during various school outreach activities to spread awareness among students, teachers, parents, and stakeholders.
- Display the display banners of the MANAS Helpline-1933 (enclosed) prominently at the entrance gate, reception, notice boards, and other visible areas of the school premises.
- Disseminate the message during assemblies, parent-teacher meetings, and other forums to ensure maximum awareness.

The notice reads that “This initiative aims at strengthening awareness and building a drug-free school ecosystem. Schools are requested to extend full cooperation and motivate students to actively support this cause“.
