The Bhilai Institute of Technology (BIT) Raipur is one of the renowned institutions of Chhattisgarh. It was established in the year 1986 with the establishment of another institution in Durg. The courses offered by the BIT Raipur are approved by the AICTE. The campus is affiliated to the Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University. It is the first private engineering college in the state of MP. After the separation of Chhattisgarh from MP it has come under the limits of Chhattisgarh state.


The campus of Bhilai Institute of Technology Raipur is situated in New Raipur at Abahanpur on the national highway 43 in Chhattisgarh state. The campus sprawls in a beautiful landscape and around 24 km away from the Raipur Railway Station. The campus is well-connected by the rail and roads.


The campus provides various facilities to the students like mess & canteen, transportation, central library, stationary, 24 hour internet, medical facility, bank and ATM, computer centre, separate hostel for boys and girls, seminar hall, workshop hall, sports and games, computer lab, and cafeteria.


The campus provides the UG courses (B.Tech) in five disciplines of engineering and technology besides the two master degree programmes in business administration and computer application. The most sought engineering disciplines of the college are as the following:
