Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Handicapped is a government and co-educational institute for handicapped students was established in the year 1997 by the state government of Uttar Pradesh. College is affiliated to Gautam Budh Technical University, Kanpur. College is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, Govt. of India and MHRD, New Delhi. College is recognized to Board of Technical Education, State Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Campus:

Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Handicapped is situated opposite of Rama dental college and beside of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University at Awadhpuri in Kanpur district of UP. College is well-connected by roads and rail as nearest railway station of Kalyanpur. The campus is spread over in 15 acres of land.

Programmes:

Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for Handicapped offer five under graduate degree programme and four polytechnic diploma courses in the field of engineering & technology, office management and architecture. The college has 460 seats for admission in all programmes as the annual intake capacity of students and 69 faculty members from all departments and 27 administrative staff.

Facilities:

The campus provides the full waiver in tuition fees for diploma courses with 190/- stipend to all diploma students as financial aid. The campus has internet facility with 2 mbps leased line and 5 mbps broadband, students’ and faculty residence facility, computer centre , free orthopedic appliances and rehabilitation aid, ramp for disabled students, library with 20,000 books, labs, workshops, sports, mess and transportation facility.

Activities:

The campus has been conducted various extracurricular and co-curricular activities for overall personality development. The campus has for cells as cultural cell, sports cell, literary cell and special interest cell to regulate such activities.
