Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, (GNDEC) Ludhiana was established in the year 1956. The college is one of the oldest engineering colleges in the state of Punjab. The college was established by the Nankana Sahib Education Trust (NSET) in the memory of most sacred temple of Nankana Sahib, the birth place of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The primary objective of establishing the college was to provide quality technical education to the economically weaker students and thus admitting 70% of students from the rural India. The college is affiliated to Punjab Technical University and approved by all India council for technical education (AICTE) New Delhi. The college is also accredited by NBA and certified by ISO 9001:2000 certification.
Campus:
The college is situated in the Ludhiana city of Rupnagar district. The college campus is spread in an area of 88 acres of land. The college is located in a good environment, having good lush green outfields and good infrastructure having all major facilities. The college is well connected to major cities by fast and frequent transport facilities available round the clock.
Programmes:
Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College is offering seven undergraduate and eight postgraduate engineering courses in various disciplines leading to the degree of Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology. The college provides all major facilities to the students some of them include well built workshops, well equipped and fully furnished labs, spacious and ventilated classrooms, computer centre with internet facility and latest hardware and software enabled computers. The college have rich library consisting of thousands of books and journals. The college also provides other facilities like hostel, sports, mess and canteen.
Placement:
The GNDEC has a separate T&P cell, the goal of the cell is to provide employment opportunities and world class training in the leading organizations. The cell arranges training for the students for the duration of four weeks after the 4th semester and 6 month training after the 6th or 7th semester.
