Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University, Guwahati was established in the year 2005. It is a public university and is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). It is first and only state university in north-east.
Campus
The campus is located in Kahilipara, Guwahati, Assam. The campus provides all the necessary facilities to the students for their recreation and can be easily accessible through any modes of transportation by rail, road etc.

The university provides all the necessary facilities to the students such as it has well adequate classrooms with modern teaching and training aids like overhead projector, LCD projector, and laptop , library which has a total collection of about 10,000 books covering different discipline , several reputed Indian and foreign journals in the fields of management ,separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, wi-fi campus, separate hostel facilities for boys and girls , seminar and conference hall which are equipped with modern communication system and various other recreational facilities like cafeteria, and sports facilities for both indoor as well as outdoor game like lawn tennis, cricket, basketball, handball etc.

The university also offers course in Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM). The university offers PGDM in various specializations.
