Marine Engineering and Research Institute (MERI), Kolkata

The Marine Engineering and Research Institute also known as MERI was established in 1949 in Kolkata city. This institute was founded to satisfy the growing need of marine engineers in India. About 300 Engineers are passing every year from MERI who receive a Degree in Marine Engineering, approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). The MERI is also satisfying the present need of STCW-95 Convention of IMO.

Campus

The MERI campus is located in Kolkata. The campus includes buildings where different types of labs, gym, and hostel, and library, class rooms are located.

Facilities

The facilities at the MERI campus include Swimming Pool (competition standard), Tennis court and Field Games (Cricket, Football, Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball etc), Gymnasium (well equipped Gym), Indoor Games (Table Tennis, Carom, Darts, Chess etc) and Extracurricular activities and events.
