Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) was established in the year 1961 as a regional institute of engineering by state govt. and central govt. of India. It was the seventeenth engineering institute in India. It was declared as a National Institute and a deemed university recognized by the UGC in the year 2002. It is recognized by the Board of Technical Education, State Govt. of UP. It has been awarded as an Institute of National Importance in the year 2007. MNNIT offers the trending management and engineering courses in various specializations.
Campus
The campus is situated in Allahabad city the most popular holistic and pilgrim place and the land of Maha Kumbh and Triveni Sangam (The fusion point of rivers: Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati). The campus is very well-connected by the roads and rail and very accessible from any part of the country.

The campus offers a team of 200 faculty members with an intake capacity of 1200 students in all departments.

Activities
The campus organizes the annual sports, meets, feasts and various personality development programmes. It is a no-ragging institution. The campus is conducting NCC & NSS programme as the mandatory audit course for all B.Tech students.
