National Institute of Technology, South Sikkim

The National Institute of Technology, South Sikkim is founded in the year of 2010 and managed by the NIT Sikkim Society registered under the Societies Act. It is one of the 10 new NITs established by the Ministry Of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India.

Campus

This institute is currently functioning in its temporary campus at the Barfung Block, Ravangla in South Sikkim. Its permanent campus is located in Khamdong, Sikkim. The campus is well-connected by air and railways, the nearest airport is Bagdogra and nearest railway station is New Jalpaigudi (NJP).

Facilities

This institute has separate hostel with mess facility for boys and girls. There are three hostels for girls and eleven hostels for boys located in campus. It also offers medical facility, indoor and outdoor sports facility, gymnasium, library (well-stocked with thousands of books, journals, etc.), well-furnished class rooms, department wise laboratory, cafeteria and many more.

The NIT, South Sikkim offers many UG, PG and Ph.D courses in the engineering, science and humanities field and many more. Some major engineering courses are given below:
