National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur

National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur is a government aided engineering college located in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. The college was established in the year 1986 as the regional engineering college as the joint venture of government of Himachal Pradesh and Govt. of India. The college offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in engineering, sciences and humanities. In the year 2002 the college was awarded with the status of deemed university and hence upgraded to a NIT.

Campus:

The NIT Hamirpur is located at Anu in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. The college campus has lush green outfields and picturesque surroundings facing snow clad Dhauladhar mountain ranges. The college campus is spread in an area of 320 acres. The college is situated at a distance of 4 km from main bus stand of Hamirpur and about 80 km from the nearest rail link at Una.

The NIT Hamirpur offers various courses in graduate, postgraduate and doctorate disciplines. Facilities:

The college provides sufficient facilities to the students having well equipped labs and workshops, spacious and ventilated classrooms, a medium sized Auditorium facility. The college has a central library with the total area of 3200 sq. mtr having a sitting capacity of 500 peoples in reading hall and and 100 readers in the audio-visual hall. The library consisting of good volumes of books and journals. The other facilities include separate hostel facility for boys and girls, canteen facility, 24×7 medical facilities.

Placement:

The NIT Hamirpur has a separate Training and placement department. The cell deals with all the training and placement related issues and assist the students in their campus placement process. The cell has maintained a consistent placement record with over 85 % of the total students is placed every year and more than 50 % of the students getting more than one job.
