North Bengal Medical College, Darjeeling

North Bengal Medical College was established in the year 1968 and offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various medical specialties and super-specialties. The institution is affiliated to West Bengal University of Health Sciences and approved by Medical Council of India (MCI).

Campus

The institution is located in Sushrutanagar. The nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri which is about 11 km away and the nearest airport is Bagdogra airport which is about 8 km from the campus.

Facilities

Various necessary facilities are provided by the institution such as air-conditioned lecture theatres with the facility of OHP, laptop and projectors. The institution has a well-facilitated computer centre. It provides separate residential facilities for boys and girls along with the mess facility. The institution has an auditorium for various cultural events. It has a cafeteria and also provides sports facility to the students.

Programme

North Bengal Medical College offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the medical field. The institution offers undergraduate course in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme for the duration of four and a half years with the compulsory rotational internship training of one year. It also offers postgraduate courses in MD (Doctor of Medicine) and MS (Master of Surgery) programme for the duration of three years.
