UPES Dehradun
UPES (Formerly University of Petroleum and Energy Studies) has been established in the year 2003 through UPES act of the legislature of Uttarakhand. The UPES is approved by the UGC. The UPES is the first university under the Public-Private Partnership. The University is accredited by the NAAC & DSIR and recognized by the DEC and BCI. The UPES is a member of AIU and IAU and awarded as the ISO 9001:2008 & ISO 14001:2004 certified institutions. The University offers UG/PG level courses in engineering and management disciplines. The College of Legal Studies (CoLS) of UPES offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in law.
Campus:
The UPES campus is situated in Post Bidholi via Prem Nagar in Dehradun, the district of Uttarakhand. The university is spread over in 42 acres of land in the Pondha Vally at the foothills of the Himalayas. The University has implemented SAP for its operation. It is associated with FICCI to start National Knowledge Functional Hub. It has launched a Nano-Satellite recognized by NASA for its efforts in System Engineering.

The UPES campus has a MIG23, TATRA Truck, Oil Rig, Bio-Diesel Laboratory and 11 research & development centres. The campus has a huge computer lab with over 2500 PCs and a huge library. The campus provides the laboratories, smart classrooms, separate accommodation for boys & girls and transportation facility.
Activities:
The campus organizes the annual youth festival, sports tournament, Re-union programme, blood donation camp, road safety awareness week, cricket tournament, fresher party, trekking tours, athletics meet and dance competition.

At UPES, more than 6000 eligible students have been placed in over 500 reputed companies since its inception. The placement cell of the campus arranges the placement selection improvement programme, project work, industrial tours and internship for the students.
