University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore
University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering was established in the year 1917 with the recognition as Government Engineering College an as the fifth engineering college in the country. The college was then affiliated to the Mysore University. Since 1964 it is recognized as the constituent college of Bangalore University. The campus is approved by the AICTE and accredited by NAAC.
Campus
The University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering is the only college under the Bangalore University. The campus is spread over in 15 acres of land at the KR Circle near to the Vidhan Sabha Bhawan. The campus is easy approachable by the local transport and rail network.
Facilities
The entire campus is equipped with modern amenities and academic facilities like laboratories, lab and workshop. Campus has big sports facility for indoor and outdoor games. There are separate hostel facility for both; boys and girls. besides these the campus has canteen, transportation facility and central library.
Programmes
The University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering offers 7 UG courses in engineering, 24 PG courses in engineering and technology, 2 UG evening courses in same and M.Sc and PhD courses in all engineering disciplines. Admission to all courses is done by KCET entrance exam or GATE exam. The most sought engineering disciplines are as the following:
