CBSE Board Exam Update: The Central Board of Higher Secondary Education has released a circular regarding the subject-wise marks Bifurcation of Class X/XII, examination 2025-26.
All CBSE board exam students and schools are required to review the official marks bifurcation for the 2025-26 academic session to understand how each subject will be evaluated this year.
Details regarding the CBSE board examination are being released at cbse.gov.in. The CBSE 2025 2026 practica exam for classes 10th and 12th will be held from 01st January to 14th February 2026.

According to the circular, the updated bifurcation must be followed strictly while conducting practical exams, project work, and internal assessments.
What Is Mark’s Bifurcation?
Marks bifurcation is how CBSE splits a subject’s total marks into different parts — like theory, practical, or internal assessment. In CBSE’s Context, CBSE provides a detailed chart for Class 10 and 12 showing exact mark distribution, exam duration, and whether there will be practicals or external examiners. This helps both schools run exams properly, and students understand what to focus on.
CBSE has also mentioned that schools often make mistakes while uploading marks, and once the marks are submitted on the portal, no corrections will be allowed. Schools have been advised to verify every entry carefully before final upload.
The board has shared two separate PDFs, one for Class 10 and one for Class 12, detailing the complete split between theory, practical, project, and internal assessment components.
The board has made available the complete subject-wise tables for Class 10 and Class 12, covering S.No., subject code, subject name, duration of the theory exam, maximum marks for theory–practical–project–and internal assessment, whether an external examiner will be appointed, and whether practical answer books will be supplied.

CBSE class 10 exams (Phase 1) are going to be conducted between February 17 and March 10, 2026, and the Class 12 exams will take place from February 17, 2026, until April 9, 2026.
