CLAT Exam Update: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has recently released an important notice on the change of reservation category for CLAT 2026.
For both the UG and PG programs, the CLAT reservation category changes are announced. On 24th October 2025, the notices were released at consortiumofnlus.ac.in
The CLAT 2026 registration is ongoing, and candidates applying to DSNLU Visakhapatnam and NLUO Cuttack are advised to review the changes and update their reservation categories if they are eligible.
The notice states that for DSNLU, Visakapatnam, “The SC of AP category has been sub divided into 3 sub-groups as SC-AP (Group I), SC-AP (Group II), and SC-AP(Group III) Eligible candidates of AP are requested to update their reservation at the earliest.”
For NLUO, Cuttack “1) Socially and Educationally Backwards Classes (11.25%) – Odisha State Category has been introduced. 2) PWD of Odisha category has been removed. 3) Ex-Servicemen quota has been added. Eligible candidates of Odisha are requested to update their reservation at the earliest.”
How To Edit a Reservation in CLAT 2026 Application
Follow the steps given below to make changes in the reservation in the CLAT form:
- Go to the CLAT 2026 official website.
- On the homepage, look at the right side of the “Login Section”.
- Enter your mobile number and password to log in.
- Your CLAT form will appear on screen.
- Click on the “Edit Application Button” option.
- Go to the Reservation tab and under DSNLU, Visakapatnam, for the question, Do you want to claim state level reservation of Andhra Pradesh?, answer Yes./ Go to the Reservation tab and under NLUO, Cuttack, for the question, Are you a domicile of Odisha?, answer Yes.
- Select the reservation category you want to claim in the drop-down.
- Finally, click on the Submit button to save changes.
- Save a copy of the reservation page for further use.

The CLAT 2026 registration started on 01st August 2025, and the last date to apply is 31st October 2025. As the deadline is near, all the eligible candidates are advised to submit the form sucessfully on time.
Consortium of NLUs will be conducting the CLAT 2026 exam on 07th December 2025, and candidates whose form will be accepted by the authority will be eligible to sit for the exam.
