After so much wait, the GATE 2026 session details have been officially released. Candidates who are going to take the examination should carefully review all the details.
The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is going to conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, GATE 2026 session exam.
On August 11, the GATE 2026 poster was released. The poster includes details such as the GATE 2026 exam overview, exam date and schedule, application fees, eligibility, test papers, and other information.
Note that for this session, the GATE 2026 fees have been increased by ₹100 for female candidates, SC / ST / PwD categories, and by ₹200 for all other candidates. Along with it, A new sectional paper on Energy Science (XE-I) is being introduced in the Engineering Science (XE) paper.

IIT Guwahati will begin the GATE 2026 registration on 25th August 2025, and candidates will be able to submit the online application form till 25th September 2025, and the closing date of the extended online registration/application process (With Late Fee) is Monday, October 06, 2025. Only candidates who will meet the eligibility critera can apply.
Candidates whose application will be accepted by the authority will be able to take the GATE 2026 examination, which is scheduled to be held on 07, 08, 14, and 15 February 2026.
The GATE result will be announced on 19th March 2026. Candidates who will clear the exam will be eligible for admission to postgraduate programs and may also be considered for recruitment in PSUs, depending on their score and the eligibility criteria of the respective institutes or organizations.
