Admission Procedure

The admission into MBBS/BDS course will be based on the national level entrance exam called as NEET. No state level entrance exam will be organized in Pune for admission into medical & dental programme. All governments & private colleges considered NEET score card for admission into MBBS/BDS courses. The Universities only have permission to conduct counselling for 85% state quota seats.

Entrance Exam

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organizes a national level medical entrance test known as National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The entrance exam is held in the month of May every year. On the basis of the NEET score, candidates will get admission into medical colleges of Pune.

MBBS Admission 2017

Candidates have to apply for a NEET exam to get admission in the governments & private colleges in Pune. The application form is available through online process only. Candidates can get the application form from the 31st January till 1st March 2017. The eligibility criteria to apply for NEET are given below:

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
  • Candidate’s age should be 17 years as on or before 31st December of the academic year of admission.
  • Candidates have to pass the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
  • Candidates have to obtain minimum 55% marks in aggregate for General Category (45% marks in case of GEN-PH & 40% marks in case of the SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH category).
  • 12th Appearing  candidates can also apply.

Selection Procedure

Candidates will be selected on the basis of the merit list for admission into MBBS/BDS course. It is necessary for each candidate to pass the NEET exam those seek admission into Medical /Dental course in Pune for 85% state quota seats. On the basis of merit list, candidates can apply for the counselling procedure on their preferred college situated in Pune. All India level NEET counselling will be managed by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) & Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Approximately in Pune, there are 2510 seats vacant for MBBS & 450 for BDS course.
