Dr. R.B. Singh Gaya Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Gaya
Dr. R.B. Singh Gaya Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital , Gaya was formed by visionary Dr. Ram Balak Singh, a veteran homeopath in the year of 1967. The college is affiliated to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, Bihar. It is approved by the Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi.
Campus
The campus is located on the bank of river Niranjana, at Amawan that is adjacent to the Gaya district of Bihar. The campus is well-connected by road and railway transportation both; from Patna and Bodh Gaya itself. There are separate blocks for each department.
Facilities
The college has departments that are well-equipped with models, laboratory instruments and other teaching-aid materials. There are various facilities that are offered by the college such as seminar hall, lecture theaters, conference hall, medical, canteen, classrooms, and auditorium. The college has a well-maintained library for both; the students and faculty. The library has a wide collection of reference books, periodical, textbooks, reports, journals, etc. The hostel facility is provided to the students after getting admission to the college.
Programmes
The Dr. R.B. Singh Gaya Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Gaya offer 5 ½ years Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS). The time duration of the BHMS programme is 4 ½ years + one year of compulsory internship.
Medical Course:
The BHMS Course is divided in four academic years that is followed by the university examination.
- 1st BHMS: 18 months
- 2nd BHMS: 12 months
- 3rd BHMS: 12 months
- 4th BHMS: 12 months
Internship
After qualifying the final BHMS examination, each student will be required to undergo the one year compulsory rotating internship. After completing the internship, students will be eligible for the award of the degree of BHMS from the university. Internship training will be undertaken at the attached hospital of the college. The university will be issued the provisional certificate on qualifying the final BHMS to each student.
