Government College of Dentistry, Indore

The institution was established by Dr. S.L. Mangi, Late Dr. G.L. Sharma, Late Shri Mishrilalji Gangwal, Hon’ble Ex-minister of Madhya Pradesh. Initially, the institution was started together with the M.G.M. Medical College, Indore but in 1966 Government College of Dentistry, Indore came into existence under the ownership of Dr S.L. Mangi. It has the affiliation from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore and the dental courses of the college are recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI).

Campus

Government College of Dentistry has its campus in the Indore district that is the largest city of Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The college is situated near Shivaji Square, Murai Mohalla, Indore. The campus is well-networked by all modes of transportation and is fully connected by all the major cities of Madhya Pradesh.

Facilities

The college has the well-stocked library accommodating all the text books of BDS as well as MDS. It also houses journals on various specialties of dentistry, daily newspapers and magazines with the facility of reading room for study purpose. It has an up-to-date fully equipped library of all departments. The institution also provides clinical training to the students.  The lecture halls of the college are equipped with latest audio-visual aids.

Programmes

Government College of Dentistry, Indore runs undergraduate course in Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and postgraduate course in Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). BDS is the most sought dental course having the duration of 4 years with one year compulsory internship. The duration of MDS dentistry course is of 3 years.
