Jamia Millia Islamia, (JMI) New Delhi is a central university located in New Delhi, India. The institute was originally established during the British rule in the year 1920 and was located at Aligarh in united provinces. In Urdu language the word “Jamia” means university and “Millia” means national. The university became a central public university in the year 1988, by an act of the Indian parliament. The university was founded by Mohammad Ali Jouhar along with other group of members, comprising of educationist and social activist coming from different parts of India. The university offers education in large number of fields from undergraduate to doctoral courses in various fields of science, arts, engineering, management, law, medical, commerce, nursing and foreign languages.

Jamia Millia Islamia is located at Jam Nagar in New Delhi. The college has a large campus with all necessary amenities. The university campus has administrative block, residential block, playground, and central library.
