Loknayak Jai Prakash Institute of Technology is the co-educational and 7th government college of engineering and technology education in Bihar state. It was established in the year 2012 under the premises of Jai Prakash Narayan University and affiliated to the same University. It is recognized by government of Bihar under administrative control of department of science and technology. College has approved by AICTE- All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi.

Loknayak Jai Prakash Institute of Technology is situated at national highway-19, spread over in 40 acres of land in a sprawling campus of Jay Prakash Narayan University in Chapra district of Bihar.
