National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) is a centrally funded institution. It was established in the year of 1965. The NIT is initially affiliated to Tripura University and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Campus

The NIT campus is 4 km off National Highway (NH-44) and around 24 km away from the capital city, Agartala. The campus is spread in 365.6 acres. The institute is well-connected with railway, road and air facilities. The nearest railway station is about 2 km away from institute campus. The airlines connect Agartala to Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati and Mumbai directly.

Facilities

The institute has a well stocked library (more than 34,000 books & 200 Journals), workshop and laboratories and computer facilities. There are both boy’s hostel and girls’ hostel facilities. The NIT also has a bank and post office, health care, transport and sports facilities.
