Salfia Unani Medical College & Hospital, Darbhanga was established in the year 1981 by Dr. S. Hafeez Salfi and his associates. It is a Muslim Minority Medical College. The college is run by a registered trust “The Anjuman Ahl-e-Hadees”. Salfia Unani Medical College is affiliated to B R Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur and approved by Department of AYUSH, Ministry of health & family welfare, Government of India, New Delhi And State Government of Bihar. The college is recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM).
Campus
The campus of Salfia Unani Medical College & Hospital is located at Laheriasarai on 140 km north from Patna ‘the capital of Bihar’ on a national highway. The campus comes under Darbhanga district of Bihar. The campus is well-connected by bus and other roadways transportation.
Facilities
The campus has a well-equipped academic infrastructure as well as clinical & hospital facility. The campus has a well-stuffed library and well-equipped laboratories to facilitate the students for practicals. Besides these, campus offers limited accommodation facility to outstation students. Campus has a sound modern teaching facilities.
Programmes
Salfia Unani Medical College offers 4 & 1/2 year bachelor degree course in Unani Medicine which is called as BUMS. At present the total intake capacity of this course is 50 (seats). To avail this programme, candidates must be passed 12th with PCB and URDU as a mandatory subject. The entire course splits in three professional examination followed by the internship of 12 months duration. After completion of this course, The degree will be awarded by B R Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur.
Medical Course:
Main course of BUMS shall be a whole time course of 4-1/2 years split in three professional examinations.
- 1st Professional: 18 months
- 2nd Professional: 18 months
- 3rd Professional: 18 months
- Internship Period: 12 months
