Shri Shankaracharya Engineering College, Bhilai was formed in the year 1999. The institution is affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University (CSVTU) and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Shri Shankaracharya Group of Institutions has the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences offering UG and PG courses in the field of Pharmacy.

The campus has 21,000 square metre built up area. The nearest railway station is 5 kms away from the institute.

Shri Shankaracharya Engineering College provides two year full-time course in Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme. The MBA programme has four semesters. In the first year students study all the subjects related to the management field and in the second year they can take any specialization of their choice.
