Siliguri Government Polytechnic (SGP), Siliguri

The Siliguri Government Polytechnic (Erstwhile Women’s Polytechnic, Siliguri), is situated in the District Darjeeling, West Bengal. It was established in the year 1995. The institute was renamed as Siliguri Govt. Polytechnic in the year 2004 after it was converted to a co-educational institute. The aim of the institution is to provide the quality education in the field of Science & technology. It is affiliated to WBUT, Kolkata and approved by AICTE & PCI, New Delhi.

Campus

The Siliguri is situated on the foothills of the Himalayas under Darjeeling District of West Bengal. The sprawling campus of the institution has state-of-art laboratories equipped with modern instruments. The institution has well-qualified and eminent faculties with hard working capability. The faculty members focus on each and every student for their individual personality development. It has all facilities in the campus including accommodation for students and the staff.

Facilities

The institution has its own central library enriched with collections of text books, journals, periodicals, news paper, magazines, competitive exam books and many more. The institution has well-furnished spacious classrooms with modern teaching aids. The total capacity of the classroom is to accommodate 40 students in a single classroom. The computer department of the institute is equipped with adequate no. of computers and with latest & modern technologies. The teaching aids used by the faculty are slide projectors, PA systems, Over- head projectors (OHP), and other On-Line information systems.

Programmes

The Siliguri Government Polytechnic (SGP) offered course in the carious fields of Science & Technology. It offers the Diploma in Architecture, Computer Technology and in Pharmacy. The course offered her comes under the AICTE & Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi. The diploma of pharmacy is of 3 years duration with 10+2 eligibility criteria.
