Visva Bharati University, West Bengal
The Visva Bharati University is one of the India’s major Central Government funded autonomous universities located in Santiniketan, West Bengal. It was founded by Rabindranath Tagore who called it Visva Bharati. Soon after independence, in 1951, the institution was given the status of university and was renamed Visva Bharati. The university is affiliated with UGC and approved by the ICAR. It offers the degree curses in various disciplines.
Campus
The university campus is divided into institutes, centers, departments and schools. The respective departments are included in the institutes. The university’s programmes dealing with its rich cultural heritage, as well as art & dance education. These departments are funded by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. The university has museums also. It is spread over 30 acres of lush green land which is far away from the polluted area.

The Visva Bharati University provides all facilities to their students. The college has a library which is the very first thing needed by the students. It has state-of-art infrastructure which is well equipped and furnished. The university has many laboratories for each department. It has herbal gardens in which students can gain the practical knowledge. It has tutorial room, instrument room, gymnasium, hostels for boys and girls, mess, college bus, etc.

It provides the degree courses in UG, PG & Ph.D. The degree courses offered by the university are of full duration course.
