Government Engineering College, Bharuch

Government Engineering College (GEC), Bharuch has been established in the year 2004 by the State Government of Gujarat. It is fully government and co-ed institution. The college is affiliated to the Gujarat Technological University, Ahmadabad. It is approved by the MHRD, Gujarat Directorate of Technical Education and AICTE, New Delhi (Govt. of India).

Campus:

The campus is sited on the Old National Highway-8, near KJ Polytechnic, opposite Government Guest House in Village Bholav in District Bharuch, Gujarat. The campus is 1 km away from the Bharuch Railway Station and 3 km from Bharuch City. The nearest airport is Surat Airport. The GEC, Bharuch campus is spread over in 10.68 acres of land.

Students, Faculty & Staff:

The campus offers the 480 seats as the annual intake for admission in all programmes. The GEC campus has more than 60 faculty members and 25 non-teaching staff from all departments.

Facilities:

The campus provides the laboratories, library with 50 seating capacity, workshops, canteen, student store, book bank, stationary, sports facility, computer centre having 242 computers with 6 Mbps internet facility, gymnasium and transportation.

Activities:

The GEC institution organizes the cultural, social and sports activities like debates, gathering and indoor sports competition. The campus conducts extracurricular activities and seminars.

Programmes:

The GEC, Bharuch is conducting the 4 year full-time B.Tech degree programme in five engineering disciplines. The engineering disciplines are as the following:

  • Civil Engineering

Placement:

The campus has a placement & training cell regulated by a committee of 6 members, and providing the trainings, internship and job placement for the students.
