SVU 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Check SOMAIYA Vidyavihar University 2026 eligibility norms in the section below: 

For B.Tech Course: 

• Qualification: Candidates should have passed class 12th from any board to be eligible for admission. 
• Subjects: In qualifying exam, candidates must have English, Physics, Mathematics as a mandatory subject along with one of the subjects (Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject). 
• Marks: Candidates must score a minimum 45% marks for all category to be eligible for admission. 
• Scores: Selection of candidates can also be made based on the merit of valid score of JEE Main 2026/ MHT CET 2026/ PERA CET 2026/ CUET UG 2026/ SAT 2025/ SAT 2026. 

For Other UG Courses (B.Des (Product Design)): 

• Qualification: Candidates must pass in class 12th with any stream to be eligible for admission. 
• Marks: To be eligible for admission, candidates must score 50% aggregate marks. 
• Scores: Candidates with a valid score in SVU ET/ UCEED/ NID-DAT/ NIFT/ PERA-CET/ NATA/ JEE Main Paper 2/ CUET/ MAH-Design CET 2026 Score + Team Activity & Personal Interview (Online)

For M.Tech Course: 

• Eligibility: Candidates must have passed a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field of Engineering and Technology (BE/ BTech) to be eligible for admission. 
• Marks: In qualifying exam, candidates must score at least 50% marks to apply. 
• Appearing: Those appearing candidates in final year will also be eligible to apply. 
• Selection: Candidates will be selected based on the valid scores of GATE (2024/ 2025/ 2026) or PERA CET 2026 or CUET PG 2026. 
• Those interested candidates in pursuing the MTech + PhD programs will have to appear for the PhD entrance exam during the first year of the MTech programme. Selected candidates will only be considered for the MTech+PhD programme. Candidates will get two attempts to appear for the PhD entrance.

SVU 2026 Entrance Exam (SUVET)

Somaiya Vidyavihar University will also organize a entrance test named SVUET (Somaiya Vidyavihar University Entrance Test). It is organized for various courses to offer admission. The exam will be conducted through online internet proctored test. 

The language medium of the exam will be English. Exam duration will be one hour. The exam will be conducted in various schedules as per the admission round.  

SVU Result/Merit List 2026

SVU Entrance Test Result will be announced within a week after the examination. The result will be checked through online mode. Candidates must score a non zero positive score SVUET to get eligible for admission.

On the basis of candidate’s performance in the entrance test or qualifying exam, a merit list will be drawn. Candidates will be eligible for admission as per the merit list. Candidates must keep their result or score card safe as it will be required for further admission process.

SVU 2026 Admission Process

SVU will organize different admission rounds as depending on the availability of seats. Admissions will be given to candidates based on merit list of the qualifying exam or entrance tests. JEE Main, SAT, CUET, PERA CET & other exams will be considered for providing admissions.

Seats will be allotted to candidates as per their merit, filled preference, candidates profile and availability of seats. SVU will communicate to candidates regarding offered seats through registered Email ID. The list of documents required for verification is listed below:
