Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national level examination. Indian Institute of Management (IIM),Kozhikode will conduct CAT exam in slots in three sessions among various cities.

CAT 2025 Slot Wise Exam Analysis
The Slot 1 of CAT 2025 exam held on 30th November 2025 from 8.30 am – 10.30 am was easy to moderate in difficulty level.

The Slot 2 of CAT 2025 exam held on 30th November 2025 from 12.30 pm – 2.30 pm was considered tougher by students on comparison to Slot 1.

The exam analysis of Slot 3 of CAT 2025 (4.30 pm – 6.30 pm) is available now. As per the reviews of candidates, this slot was overall moderate to hard in difficulty level. DILR part was lengthy and challenging, whereas in QA section the geometry and algebra was considered trickier and arithmetic questions were lengthy. VARC section was seen similar as last years.

CAT 2025 Exam Difficulty Level
Understanding the difficulty level is essential for the CAT aspirants, as it helps them to be prepared for the exam. This year, the paper was set by IIM Kozhikode, the level of difficulty was moderate as predicted.
Viewing back trend of CAT analysis, it has been observed that there is a consistent balance in the level of difficulty set by IIMs. A balancing approach is seen which shows one year the paper is set difficult whereas it tends to be easier next year.
CAT 2025 Exam Highlights
The CAT 2025 registration began on 1st August 2025 and ended on 20th September 2025. The Authority provides correction facility for limited time period. Candidates were only allowed to edit their signature & photograph only. Every year 2 lakh+ candidates appear for the examination.
The authority has also provided mock test link for candidates. The admit card for CAT 2025 has been made available on 12th November 2025. CAT 2025 examination will be conducted in computer based test mode on 30th November 2025 for providing admission to MBA/ PGDM course.
The examination will be conducted in three slots. This year, CAT 2025 exam will be conducted in 170 test cities.
Last year, Notable change in CAT paper included increase number of questions i.e. 68 questions (66 questions in the earlier sessions).

Morning Shift – CAT Exam 2024 Slot 1:
CAT 2024 exam for Slot/ Shift 1 was held successfully on 24th November 2024 between 8.30 am to 10.30 am.
The DILR section was considered easy in difficulty level but had time constraint. While the VARC section was moderate to difficult as per the student’s experience.
To maintain accuracy is the key in order to score well in VARC section. QA section was considered easier than previous year.
Afternoon Shift – CAT Exam 2024 Slot 2:
CAT 2024 exam for Slot/ Shift 2 was successfully conducted between 12.30 noon to 2.30 pm.
- VARC – In this section the verbal section was relatively easy. No questions were noted from para-jumbles. The passages in RC section were on topics – European colonisation and spices, technology and its unintended consequences, peer review, human-animal conflict, etc.
- DILR – According to the students, this section was considered easier on comparing to the previous year. The topics included – Statistical data, direction based, roots & network, grid based, etc.
- QA – Comparing to slot 1, this section was little challenging for students. More questions were seen from Arithmetic. Overall attempt in this section is expected lower than slot 1. Students with high accuracy stand to benefit this section.
Evening Shift – CAT Exam 2024 Slot 3:
CAT 2024 exam for Slot/ Shift 3 was held between 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm successfully. According to the review of students,
The quant section was considered easy and similarities were seen with slot 1. The RC passages were on topics such as – consequences of AI, native language going extinct, chinese wine, etc.
DILR section was considered easy than last year. The topics from where the questions were asked – OTT Platform, AC and power modes, GDP and per capita of 8-12 countries, networking, intersections and placement of ATMs, nutritional values, etc.
In QA section, there were more arithmetic questions with straight questions of up to 2 lines. Higher number of attempts were suggested in this section easier than slot 1. Those with high level of accuracy will benefit.
