Counselling has been started for MD/ MS through INI CET scores. JIPMER PG is a national level entrance exam conducted to offer admission into the PG courses like MD/ MS & DM/ M.Ch courses.
Through this entrance examination, admission is provided to the candidates in the JIPMER campuses at Puducherry and Karaikal. Mode of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Institute and Research-Post Graduate counselling will be online.

JIPMER PG 2026 Counselling
JIPMER PG 2026 Counselling will be conducted online. The process is being conducted at various JIPMER campuses.

Counselling Procedure
The counselling procedure of JIPMER PG is organised in various rounds via offline mode. Candidates are advised to be present at the allotted venue on the prescribed date and time. The various rounds conducted for counselling are:
Round I
The first round of counselling for MD/ MS programmes & DM/ M.Ch will be announced separately. For the M.Ch/DM programs, the counselling rounds will be started. In the first round, list of candidates who will be shortlisted have to be physically present/ report at the institution for MD/ MS.
Round II
The second round of counselling will be started after completion of 1st round. In this round, the authority will release the list of course wise vacant seats left after the first counselling. Shortlisted ranks for the 2nd counselling process will be released by the board.
Final Counselling
After the second counselling, the remaining vacant seats left are allotted to the remaining candidates in the order. The third round counselling will be started online after 2nd round completion. Candidates, who did not make a choice, can also participate in this round.
Open Counselling
An open counselling will be held by the authority, if in case the seats still remain vacant after all rounds of counselling. The open round of counselling will be started through online mode. The authority will release a list of eligible candidates and a number of vacancies for final counselling.
Documents required for Counselling/ Admission
Candidates who get selected for the counselling rounds must have to be present at the allotted venue with certain important documents. Candidates have to submit the original as well as the attested photocopies of their documents. The list of documents is provided below:
